Brand New!; The Levi and Mosiah Hancock Journals are two of the most unique pioneer journals in Mormon history. Levi was raised on the frontier, had little formal education, and was a cabinet maker by trade. He was baptised into the LDS Church November 16, 1830, and spent a great deal of time as a missionary. He was a member of Zions camp. On February 28, 1835, he was ordained by Joseph Smith as one of the First Seventies of the Church, and soon after was choosen one of the First Seven Presidents, which position he held for 47 years until the day of his death. He passed through many of the persecutions of the saints in Missouri. Later he served as a police officer in Nauvoo and acted as body-guard to the Prophet. He was the only general Authority of the church that enlisted in the Mormon Battalion, and became the chaplain - doing much to mold the character of the soldiers. He later went to theGreat Salt Lake Valley and subsequently became one of the pioneer settlers of Manti. Levi served two or three terms in the Utah legislature. In 1856 he consecrated all his property to the Church. He later moved to Southern Utah, and about ten years before his death, he was ordained Patriarch, blessing thousands of Saints. He died in Washington COunty, Utah in 1882. Mosia h was the son of Levi Ward Hancock and Clarissa Reed Hancock. They were of old Puritan stock that was in Boston as early as 1632. Their ancestors fought for the freedom of our country. All laid down their lives in the Revolutionary war except for Thomas (He was the brother of the Famous John Hancock). Thomas was homorably discharged when scarcely fourteen years of age. Mosiah's journal os one of the most unique in Mormon history because of his vision of the Pre-earth life, and also his visitation of the Savior. ; 5.25" x 8.25"; 192 pages;
