; Mormon Doctorine is the ideal book for all who seek salvation through the knowledge of, the savior. Encyclopedic-type work of many Mormon Ideals. The Original First Edition was not received well by the First Presidency. Consequently later edition were changed. Some examples in this 1958 first edition: "the posterity of Cain (and later of Ham) were cursed with what we call Negroid racial characteristics. The race and nation in which people are born in this world is a direct result of their preexistent life. Negroes in this life are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty. Those who practice birth control... ...are running counter to the foreordained plan of the Almighty. They are in open rebellion against God and are guilty of gross wickedness. Perhaps the most controversial piece ommitted in future editions is the Great and Abominal church of the Devil pointed out as the Catholic Church.
