1 Tara and the Ark of the Covenant: A Search for the Ark of the Covenant by British Israelites on the Hill of Tara (1899 - 1902)

Good in Very Good Dust Jacket, Royal Irish Academy, 2003,

Hardcover

Cover has some light edge and corner wear. Some interior markings, in pen, pencil and/or marker. ; Can you imagine this scene - Arthur Griffith, in the esteemed company of William Butler Yeats, George Moore and Douglas Hyde standing on the Hill of Tara? Not out for a walk or a discussion about contemporary culture, but waging a protest about the exploratory dig on the hill for the Ark of the Covenant, the gold encrusted oak box which contains the stone tablets that Moses brought down from Mount Sinai. Then Maud Gonne arrives, lights a bonfire and starts singing "A Nation Once Again" at the top of her voice. Then the man who owns that land arrives and threatens to shoot them! This actually happened at the turn of the century in Co. Meath. Between 1899 and 1902, a group known as the British-Israelites dug the Hill of Tara in their quest to find the Ark of the Covenant. Tara and the Ark of the Covenant describes the story of this excavation and places it in its archaeological, historical, cultural and political context. It describes the reasons for the British-Israelites expedition and the involvement of the Freemasons in their quest.; 6.75" x 10"; 172 pages,

Ye Have Been Hid - Finding the Lost Tribes of Israel, Rees, Leslie
2 Ye Have Been Hid - Finding the Lost Tribes of Israel

Rees, LeslieNew, Digital Legend, 2011,

Paperback

Brand new softcover book! ++ %%

; The subject of the “Lost Tribes” of Israel has been of interest for generations. Especially is this true for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of the many references to them in the Book of Mormon and Doctrine in Covenants, in addition to the pronouncement of their fate in the 10th Article of Faith.

Incredible myths have abounded, and unfortunately sometimes been promoted in the religious classroom. None of the “hollow earth” or “on a star” legends, however, are as exciting and interesting as the truths concerning them set out in the scriptures.

This book is the result of almost 40 years of study, and lays out the scriptural record of the House of Israel from its beginning through its history of captivity, journey to the “promised land,” division into two kingdoms, subsequent defeat and captivity.

For the most part, those Israelites from the southern Kingdom of Judah retained their identity as Israelites, or Jews, while those from the northern kingdom were scattered, mixed among the Gentile nations, and most, eventually, forgot their lineage. All of this was foretold by the Lord’s prophets, with their scattering, latter-day gathering, and then a restored identity to those who had forgotten it, clearly laid out.

The second half of the book is a collection of fascinating histories, traditions, and legends held by people from many countries of the earth tracing their family lines back to those northern Israelites we call the “Lost Tribes.” They are found in China, Japan, Africa, the countries of the former U.S.S.R., the Middle East, North and South America, and many other places.

The book is a celebration of the Lord’s kept promises to His people and a reminder of the responsibilities of all who are -– or who become-- children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the People of the Covenant.

"This book dispels the plethora of myths surrounding the scattering and gathering of Israel, which perennially make their way into every Sunday School, Seminary, and Institute discussion. It gives us a mature and impeccable scriptural road map of Israel's apostasy and travels. Careful teachers would find this volume a most useful reference."---- Vivian McConkie Adams ; 6" x 9"; 396 pages,
