A Perfect Brightness of Hope, Baxter, David S.
2 A Perfect Brightness of Hope

Baxter, David S.New in New Dust Jacket, Deseret Book, 2012, Salt Lake City, UT

Hardcover

Brand new hardcover book! %%

; Are you or someone you know experiencing feelings of darkness and despair? Do you feel alone in your suffering?

In this volume, A Perfect Brightness of Hope, author Davis S. Baxter brings light to those of us who feel beyond help and hope, reminding us that we are not alone, however alone we may feel. He testifies powerfully of the need each of us has to draw hope from the Atonement of Jesus Christ—hope for a future that's better than the life we're living right now.

Based on real-life experiences of family breakdown, disrupted childhood, severe financial trials, and life-threatening illness, Elder Baxter illuminates gospel principles and scriptural insights with inspiring stories from his own experiences. He describes how we can "act in hop" and outlines changes that will come into our lives as a result of that action.

Through Elder Baxter's words and stories in A Perfect Brightness of Hope, you will find empathy, understanding, spirit-lifting counsel, and—most of all—real, lasting hope in the Savior, Jesus Christ. ; 6.25" x 9.25"; 140 pages,

The Crucible Of Doubt - Reflections on the Quest for Faith, Givens, Terryl and Fiona Givens
4 The Crucible Of Doubt - Reflections on the Quest for Faith

Givens, Terryl and Fiona GivensNew in New Dust Jacket, Deserert book, 2014, Salt Lake City, UT

Hardcover

Brand new hardcover book! ;
Faith is the first principle of the gospel of Jesus Christ. So what happens when a person has doubts?
Questioning is not the problem, according to authors Terryl and Fiona Givens. “After all,” they write, “the Restoration unfolded because a young man asked questions.” The difficulty arises when questions are based on flawed assumptions or incorrect perceptions, which can “point us in the wrong direction, misdirect our attention, or constrain the answers we are capable of hearing.”
This insightful book offers a careful, intelligent look at doubt—at some of its common sources, the challenges it presents, and the opportunities it may open up in a person’s quest for faith. Whether you struggle with your own doubts or mostly want to understand loved ones who question, you will appreciate this candid discussion. You’ll come away feeling more certain than ever of the Lord’s love for all of His children.

For Times Of Trouble - Spiritual Solace From The Psalms, Holland, Jeffrey R.
5 For Times Of Trouble - Spiritual Solace From The Psalms

Holland, Jeffrey R.New in New Dust Jacket, Deseret Book, 2012, Salt Lake City, UT

Hardcover

Brand new hardcover book! Includes DVD with a full two hours of content! Elder Holland addresses questions from a live audience regarding challenging issues in the last days! ; Our Father in Heaven wants us to be happy. And yet, we all have times of trouble. As Elder Jeffrey R. Holland writes, "One of the unfailing facts of mortal life is the recurring presence of trouble...When these difficult days (and nights!) come—and they will—it will help us to remember that 'it must needs be,' that in the grand councils of heaven before the world was, we agreed to such a time of challenge and refinement. We were taught then that facing, resolving, and enduring troublesome times was the price we would pay for progress. And we were committed to progress eternally."
A large percentage of the psalms that appear in the Bible were written for such times of trouble. From petitions for relief to acknowledgments of God’s power, these psalms provide comfort, perspective, and spiritual solace when we are going through our own trials.
In this tender book, Elder Holland explores dozens of scriptural passages from the psalms, offering personal ideas and insights and sharing his testimony that “no matter what the trouble and trial of the day may be, we start and finish with the eternal truth that God is for us.” Elder Holland's reflections on the psalms provide a powerful witness of that comforting truth.

7 Between Two Minds - Healing from Depression and Anxiety for LDS Women

Moore, Dr. Judith Stay (Author) and Tracy Izatt (Foreword)New, Lowe-Izatt Enterprises, 2012, The Woodlands, TX

Paperback

Brand new softcover book! ; Dr. Judith Moore has a great track record in treating and assisting patients in healing from depression and anxiety. After moving to Utah in 1996, she saw a trend and pattern in the core beliefs of LDS women, based in cultural beliefs of many LDS members, and found herself teaching many of these women what the Gospel of Jesus Christ truly is, as opposed to beliefs that keep them tied in their patterns of self-judgment and emotional pain. In this book Dr. Moore gently leads the reader into the causes of depression and anxiety, teaches with examples why we, as LDS women, tend to be unhappy in spite of the Plan of Happiness, and how negative thought patterns and beliefs can be changed. Dr. Moore explains healing gospel principles in simple concepts that are easy to follow. This is a ground-breaking book that will assist those with emotional illness in finding greater peace and joy in their lives. Even though this book was written with an emphasis on LDS women, both men and women, LDS and non-LDS can benefit from the principles presented here.; 6" x 9"; 358 pages,

Nadauld, Stephen D.New in New Dust Jacket, Deseret Book, 2009, Salt Lake City, UT

Elder Stephen D. Nadauld answers these-and other-questions about this most integral of God's gifts:

* Is agency really free?
* How can agency help me get the mout out of life?

Hope in Our Hearts, Nelson, Russell M.
9 Hope in Our Hearts

Nelson, Russell M.New in New Dust Jacket, Deseret Book, 2009, Salt Lake City, UT

Hardcover

Brand new hardcover book! ; Few people understand the human heart better than Elder Russell M. Nelson, who, prior to his call into the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, was a pioneering cardiac surgeon. Today, as an Apostle, he understands our hearts in a new way— most particularly, he understands our need for hope in our hearts. As a special witness of Jesus Christ, he testifies powerfully of where that hope can be found.

In Hope in Our Hearts, Elder Nelson brings his remarkable grasp of the gospel and his unique medical training to bear in eighteen outstanding messages that focus on family and relationships, Church doctrine, and personal growth. The book includes such classic addresses as: “Nurturing Marriage, ” “Jesus Christ — The Master Healer, ” and “The Magnificence of Man, ” as well as some talks that aren’t widely available, such as “The Family: The Hope for the Future of Nations, ” a landmark message given at the World Congress on Families V. An introduction written especially for this book includes important experiences, lessons, and photographs from his life.

“All of God’s children encounter challenges and frustrations in life, ” writes Elder Nelson. “That is part of our mortal experience. We also know that truly faithful people are produced not by fleeting flashes of exuberant effort but by continuous consistency in keeping the commandments of God. As we follow Jesus Christ, pressing forward one step at a time, we can do all that the Lord would have us do. ”; 6.5" x 9.5"; 175 pages,

Perhaps the most important changes we can make are those that bring us closer to our Father in Heaven: a change of perspective, a change of desire, a change of heart. In A Mighty Change, distinguished gospel scholar Ed J. Pinegar turns to the scriptures for guidance on how to not only accept change but to celebrate it. In a thought provoking discussion of six elements of change taken from King Benjamin's sermon, you will come to know that when viewed through eternal gospel truths, change is a necessary catalyst in becoming a true disciple of Christ.; 6" x 9"; 232 pages,
