2 The Polygamy 101 - 2 Vol Set - A Companion Book to Polygamy 101 - an Insider's Introduction to Fundamentalist Mormons and the Polygamy 101 Dictionary

Allred, ArchNew, The FIG Project, 2010,

Paperback

Brand new softcover books! Each book also includes a CD-ROM with the book in PDF format on the disk. ; Polygamy 101: An Insider's Introduction to Fundamentalist Mormons. - This 167 page book takes the first half and answers 101 questions which have often been asked to many fundamentalist Mormons. Though not comprehensive in any manner, nor indicative of all fundamentalist Mormons, the answers nevertheless offer an insight into a culture that has heretofore been known to many 'outsiders.' The second half of the book reprints some discourses from early Church leaders that offer a tremendous amount of insight into why current fundamentalist Mormons believe and practice what they do. From the belief that Christ was married plurally and had children to the unique teaching that Adam is the Father of our Spirits as well as our earthly tabernacles, these discourses show how the current LDS Church differs from the teachings of the early leaders, and why fundamentalist Mormons continue to believe in what the early leaders taught.

The second title is a companion volume to the first, though it can also stand independent. It is titled, "The Polygamy 101 Dictionary - A Companion Book to Polygamy 101: An Insider's Introduction to Fundamentalist Mormons." This 158 page book has various topics arranged in alphabetical order, and offers insight into the unique doctrines, beliefs, practices, and culture of the 'Joseph Smith' Mormons. Compiled and written by Arch Allred, and published by special arrangement with David Dye and The FIG Project, these two books are sure to offer a bold insight into the 'secretive' world of those known as fundamentalist Mormons. The following is a brief excerpt from the introduction of the book: This book is written in order to present the side of fundamentalist Mormonism that most people don't see and hardly ever experience. It isn't a rosy picture; there are surely problems. I talk about some of these problems in here. However, there is much to this godly culture that is not conveyed or portrayed by the media in general. In fact, the best selling books on polygamy are those written by the people who 'escaped.' Well, this is a book written by a man who 'escaped' monogamy, and who, with his wife and many beautiful children, now live a life that is wonderfully beautiful. It's anything but a cake walk, but the trials are more than compensated for by the Spirit carrying me. In the near future, I hope to be able to have two other books published: one from a female perspective, and one written by the youth and young adults of this spectacular culture. ; Vol. 1/2/2017; 6" x 9"; 167 + 158 pages,

UNDERSTANDING ADAM-GOD TEACHINGS - A Comprehensive Resource of Adam - God Materials, Briney, Drew
7 UNDERSTANDING ADAM-GOD TEACHINGS - A Comprehensive Resource of Adam - God Materials

Briney, DrewNew, Published By the Author, 2005,

CD

Brand CD - Book in PDF. UAGT searchable PDF. Contains the entire text of the book.

; This is THE DEFINITIVE WORK on this obscure subject, taught and testified to by most of the early leaders from 1852 - 1877, then removed from the public view and taught secretly in the LDS Temples from 1877 until around 1900. These crucial doctrines on deity have been hidden and denied by the LDS Church for over a Century and yet there are hundreds of pages of verifiable statements that prove otherwise in this new book. While Bruce R. McConkie labeled Adam-God teachings as one of the seven deadly heresies, Eliza R. Snow (plural wife of Joseph Smith) heralded this teaching as "the most important revelation ever oracled. " In a very organized and readable manner, this book presents EVERY STATEMENT EVER MADE about ADAM GOD teachings by the early brethren. The author separates his commentary from these statements so YOU CAN BE THE JUDGE and you can decide what Brigham Young really meant when he said "Adam is our Father and our God. " Some of the subjects covered - Adam as God the Father - Adam as Father of Our Spirits - Adam as Father of Christ - Eve as the Mother of all Living - Eve as a Plural Wife during this Probation - Eve as a Plural Wife in the Eternities - Mary Sealed to Adam - Adam and Eve: Immortal and Exalted Before the FallAdam and Eve Not Formed from the Dust of this Earth - Adam and Eve Knew they would Fall - Does the Atonement Pertain to Adam and Eve? - Becoming an Adam/Eve - Gods Continually Learn and Progress - Who is Jehovah? - Did Joseph Smith Introduce Adam-God Teachings? - Was Brigham Young Misquoted? - Was Brigham Young Just Speculating? THIS IS NOT AN ANTI-MORMON BOOK - The author notes that the two purposes are to "provide a comprehensive doctrinal resource for the interested reader to study Adam-God teachings within a sensitive reading environment, " and "to explore the implications of Adam-God teachings from a doctrinal perspective. " There is no agenda to either persuade or dissuade the reader on their current belief in this area, but simply to present facts - statements as they were published and approved by the early brethren. ; CD - PDF; 657 pages,

8 The Persistence of Polygamy, Vol. 3; Fundamentalist Mormon Polygamy from 1890 to the Present

Bringhurst, Newell G. & Craig L. FosterNew, John Whitmer Books, 2015,

Paperback

Brand new softcover book!

; Fundamentalist Mormon polygamy emerged from LDS Church President Wilford Woodruff’s 1890 Manifesto, which ostensibly rescinded the practice of plural marriage among Mormons. This volume explores Mormon fundamentalism from several perspectives. Among the topics considered is the history of mainstream Latter-day Saint polygamy in Mexico, John Taylor’s controversial 1886 revelation implying the irrevocability of polygamy, and the rise of fundamentalist Mormon polygamy in the early twentieth century. Other essays provide carefully crafted portraits of fundamentalist Mormon leaders such as Joseph White Musser, Rulon C. Allred, Rulon T. Jeffs, and Warren S. Jeffs. Also discussed is the 1980s schism between the FLDS church and Centennial Park Community, the 2008 Texas raid on the FLDS YFZ Ranch, and modern media stereotyping of Mormon polygamy. Three essays provide personal perspectives on present-day polygamy: a recollection of growing up within a fundamentalist Mormon community, a reading of D&C 132 from a fundamentalist perspective, and an examination of descendants of early Mormon polygamists who embraced fundamentalism. Other areas of research include the changing style of fundamentalist clothing and hair styles, fundamentalist attitudes and practices affecting African-Americans, and the plural wives of fundamentalist Mormon leaders. The volume concludes with a bibliographical evaluation of relevant literature. In this third volume of The Persistence of Polygamy, Newell G. Bringhurst and Craig L. Foster have assembled seventeen original essays that explore the fascinating history of plural marriage among fundamentalist Mormons—an enduring practice of The Principle.

13 Sacred Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith

Dye, David A.New, The F.I.G. Project, 2007,

Paperback

Brand new softcover book! %%

; Whilst many of Joseph Smith’s teachings are found in the official history of the Church, the intimate details can only be found in the diaries of those who knew him. Benjamin F. Johnson was one such individual. A member of the secret Council of Fifty, he was privy to many of the ‘underground’ teachings of the early days of the Church. In this book you will read a letter which Benjamin Johnson wrote to Joseph F. Smith in 1903, through a Church Historian. Br. Johnson shares his knowledge of many vital doctrinal & historical points from the Church. Using the letter as a ‘jumping-off’ point, the chapters in this book explore in greater detail about each of Joseph’s known plural wives, the State of Deseret, the children that the Prophet may have had by wives other than Emma, Sons of Perdition, Calling & Election, & the Sons of God. ; 6" x 9"; 212 pages,

14 Why We Practice Plural Marriage -

Dye, David A.New, Hindsight Publications, 2009,

Paperback

Brand new softcover book! By Mormon Wife and Mother, Helen Mar Whitney. Originally Published by the Juvenile Instructors office, 1884, Plus other Important Discourses & Writings on the subject of Celestial Marriage. ; As a clinical social worker who has spent countless hours with couples in marital therapy, I have seen firsthand the awful situation that our marriages and thus our homes, our family, & our society is in. It's all about 'me' and only figuratively about 'you.' We have become self-serving to the degree that we cannot see that even our best efforts to serve others have at their core a 'me' attitude. But, although this is the case doesn't mean that it has to be so. There is a way to remove the 'blinders' which limit our vision. The principle is to become humble. And one of the mechanisms for encouraging this humbleness is to consider that an eternal principle of the gospel, and one which is equally as effective for both men and women, is the principle of celestial plural marriage. Found within the pages or this book are one books, four chapters or articles of publication, three discourses, and one political document. The book, "Why We Practice Plural Marriage," by Helen Mar Whitney, was first published in 1884. It is a spirited testimony of why plural marriage is practiced among the Saints of God. The shorted publications included within this book include an article printed in the Millennial Star by Belinda Pratt entitled The Defense of Polygamy. The second short article is by Apostle Orson Pratt entitled Twenty-Seven Rules of Celestial Marriage. The third is a publication by John Taylor title The Origin and Destiny of Woman. The fourth is actually a revelation received by president John Taylor in 1886, and aptly named the 1886 Revelation. There are three discourses herein. The first was given by Joseph F. Smith and titled Plural Marriage is Imperative for Exaltation. The second is a collection of excerpts from talks by John Taylor. The third is a discourse by apostle Parley P. Pratt and entitled Celestial Family Organization. The last section of the book includes the text of an oath which the women in Utah, in the 1800's, were required to sign in order to vote. For the thirst of a strong testimony and increased enlightening o this most interesting of subjects, the contents of this book will help to quench the parched thirsty feeling so often prevalent due to the "watering down" of so many of the hearty doctrines and teachings of years gone by. ; 6" x 9"; 162 pages,
