1 Williams, Terry Tempest Between Cattails -
New York Charles Scribner's Sons 1985 Hardcover Very Good- in Good+ dust jacket Illustrated by Parnall, Peter
Cover has very little edge or corner wear, the dustjacket has some wear and a tear. Pages are tight and clean. No noticed markings. Overall great condition! ; Marshland, the place between cattails, is "a watery world," says Terry Temptest Williams, "where living things mingle and mix." It teems atonishingly with life: great blue heron, muskrat, scuds and snails, mallard, weasel, teal. In a striking blend of text and pictures, Terry Tempest Williams and Peter Parnall introduce the plants, insects, and animals that make the marsh their home. At the same time they instill the conviction that if we are to save them all, "we must treat the marsh tenderly." ; 8.5" x 10.5"; Unpaginated pages; Green hardcover with slightly worn edges. DJ is slightly worn, soiled and taped to the book. Ex-library book with all the usual markings. This is a great book that tells what goes on between the cattails.

3 Williams, Terry Tempest Refuge - An Unnatural History of Family and Place
New York Pantheon Books 1991 Hardcover Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket
Book is in great condition, very little wear. DJ is slightly edge worn, otherwise in great condition. SIGNED and inscribed by author. ; "Refuge is a record of loss, healing grace, and the search for a human place in nature's large design. Terry Tempest Williams's courage is matched my the earnest beauty of her descriptive language, and keen compassion of her observations." - Louise Erdrich, author of Love Medicine

"The courage, the passion, and the purity of motive in Terry Tempest Williams's voice are remarkable. Her demonstration of how deeply human emotional life can become intertwined with a particular landscape could not be more relevant to our time. " - Barry Lopez, author of Arctic Dreams

"A very important book with a crucial story for our time. Please read it." - Susan Griffin, author of Woman and Nature

"Refuge is an almost unbearably intense and skillful essay on mortality, our own and that of the creature world. It is isolated from nearly all others of the genre by Ms. Williams's 'greatness of soul' -- there is no ther way to express the dense beauty and grace of this book." - Jim Harrison, author of Legends of the Fall

"One of the most profoundly moving books I have ever read. Terry Tempest Williams has made a tapestry so ruch with feeling and image and insight that it startles the imagination." - T. H. Watkins, author of Righteous Pilgrim: The Life and Times of Harold Ickes

"There isn't a page that doesn't whistle with the sound of wings." - Wallace Stegner, author of Crossing to Saftey. ; 5" x 8"; 304 pages; In the spring of 1983 Terry Tempest Williams learned that her mother was dying of cancer. That same season, The Great Salt Lake began to rise to record heights, threatening the herons, owls, and snowy egrets that Williams, a poet and naturalist, had come to gauge her life by. One event was nature at its most random, the other a by-product of rogue technology: Terry's mother, and Terry herself, had been exposed to the fallout of atomic bomb tests in the 1950s. As it interweaves these narratives of dying and accommodation, Refuge transforms tragedy into a document of renewal and spiritual grace, resulting in a work that has become a classic.; Signed by Author
