1 Dye, David27 HIDDEN GEMS FROM CHURCH HISTORY

David Dye, 2007, HardcoverNew

Brand new softcover book! ; The history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is ripe with excitement! Why is this so? Because, for ages upon ages, the gospel truth was not present on the earth. It took the Prophet Joseph Smith, inquiring of the Lord for the truth, to have this last dispensation opened up to the inhabitants of this earth through him..." ; 6" x 9"; 151 pages,

2 Dye, David (editor)A Lecture on Priesthood - Elder Joseph E. Taylor, October 1890

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; "The office of the Apostles is the Alpha and Omega of the Priesthood. It has embodied in it all there is of Priesthood as pertaining to this earth."

In this landmark doctrinal discourse given by Elder Joseph E. Taylor in 1890, the differing duties of the various offices of the Priesthood are layed out in a clear and precise manner. Discussed is not only the office of Apostle, of which the Quorum of the Twelve and the Quorum of the Seventy are a part of, but also the offices of Patriarch, Bishop, Elder, High Priest, and the Aaronic Priesthood offices.

In addition to Elder Taylor's discourse, there is a note section at the end, which offers additional insight into the principles that he addressed on Priesthood. There is quoted an article from 1873 which reports that President Brigham Young organized a Quorum of Seven which stood higher in rank that did the Quorum of the Twelve. Additionally, there are quotes on the Apostleship, on the Apostleship of the Seventy (something which is not generally understood today) , the relationship of the Seventy and High Priest, and the fulness of the Priesthood.

For those who understand the offices of Priesthood in the early Church, this discourse is not only insightful and faith-promoting, but dispels many mysteries on the organization of the power of God on earth! For those who do not understand the office of the Priesthood, this is a great article to introduce some very thought-provoking ideas. ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 25 pages,

4 Dye, David (editor)Ancient American Civilizations - Apostle Moses Thatcher November 1888

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; Brigham Young once stated that any subject that pertains to truth, whether it be on a religious theme, or whether it be in the scientific field, or whatever field, if it is truth, it fits within the realm of the gospel.
So, then, can this discourse be classified as a gospel discourse. Given by Apostle Moses Thatcher in November of 1888 to the Young Mens Association of the Church, in Ogden, Utah, This discourse recounts some of the archaeological discoveries that were just occurring or being understood at the time.
Elder Thatcher relates information, as well as explanation, on the topics of the Tower of Babel, Columbus, and the ancient Aztec civilization. Of particular interest is the conclusion which he draws on the migration route of the Aztecs, stating that they left the north country of Alaska and thereabouts wandered south, even coming through (and some of them settling in) Utah. He elaborated upon their ancient canal systems as well as the caves which were used by them.
He spoke of the people of Mexico rising up eventually, and becoming as great a civilization as that in north America. Their intelligence, he maintained, was at least on par if not superior to that of the inhabitants of North America.
He ends with his testimony of Joseph Smith, and the role that the Prophet had in restoring lost truths to the earth.
For a great mixture of science and religion, this is a great read! ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 27 pages,

6 Dye, David (editor)Celestial Family Organization - Apostle Orson Pratt 1872

Hindsight Publications, 2009, Mona, Utah: PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover book! ; If the Christian world were to celebrate Christmas when Christ was actually born, our festivities would be in April. And more specifically, April 11th, as this is the date of His birth. Using the Book of Mormon, and referencing some of the chronological works of his day, Apostle Pratt concludes that Christ was born on April 11th, and argues that the first day of the year should also be on the same day.
He relates how Dionysius, of the roman Catholic Church, about 500 years after Christ, attempted to ascertain the exact date of Christ's birth, and how scholars and revelation since his day have unhesitatingly denounced Dionysius' calculations. Nevertheless, his dates were used for years, and when his errors were finally discovered, it was too late to change all of the documents dated using his system. So, his way of reckoning was then termed the "vulgar era," and this is what we still reckon on today.
Elder Pratt then explains that Christ was 32 years old when crucified, that He set up his Kingdom on earth (restoration) precisely 1,800 years to the day of when he was lifted up on the cross, and that this is firm evidence of the divinity of the mission of Joseph Simth! He talks about other changes made to our calendars, with a recent one being in 1752, when eleven days were dropped from the calendar as per parliamentary law, in order to adjust the seasons. Additionally, he speaks of the return of Christ, and offers some thoughts as to the timing and reckoning of this when comparted to the dates we have in the Bible, which are inaccurate.
He bears strong testimony of the importance of the Atonement, and states that if Satan can get the people to disbelieve in this one doctrine, he needn't worry about any other deception! The atonement is the key event in history.
He also speaks of the creations, and how Adam and Eve could be the first flesh on the earth when they were the last to be made. The two creations (spiritual and physical) are explained.
This is a spiritually uplifting discourse, with doctrinal and scientific implications on every page. ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 24 pages,

7 Dye, David (editor)Celestial Masonry of Motherhood - Including the Trinity of Motherhood. Eliza R. Snow

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; Known as the 'Prophetess,' Eliza R. Snow did as much for early Mormon theology in relation to our Mother-in-Heaven as did any male leader of the Church.
This booklet, taken from the book 'The Women of Mormondom' by Edward Tullidge, addresses the interesting, and even vital, topic of a Mother in Heaven.
Some interesting quotes included in this booklet include:
Revelation on Women Received by Women: Joseph endowed the church with the genesis of a grand theology, and Brigham has reared the colossal fabric of a new civilization; but woman herself must sing of her celestial origin, and her relationship to the majesty of creation.
Worship of God the Father and the Mother: An archangel proclamation that! Henceforth shall the mother half of creation be worshipped with that of the God-Father; and in that worship woman, by the very association of ideas, shall be exalted in the coming civilization.
Hierarcy of Spirits: Brightest among these spirits, and nearest in the circle to our Father and Mother in heaven (the Father being Adam) , were Seth, Enock, Noah and Abraham, Moses David, and Jesus Christ indeed that glorious cohort of men and women, whose lives have left immortal records in the world's history. Among these the Mormon faith would rank Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and their compeers.
Adam, or Michael, is the Father of our Spirits: These are the sons and daughters of Adam - the Ancient of Days - the Father and God of the whole human family. These are the sons and daughters of Michael, who is Adam, the father of the spirits of all our race.
A Grand Order of Saviors: Moreover, Jesus is one of a grand order of Saviours. Every world has its distinctive Saviour, and every dispensation its Christ.
Celestial Masonry: There is a glorious Masonic scheme among the Gods.
Heiress of the Gods: Woman is heiress of the Gods. She is joint heir with her elder brother, Jesus the Christ; but she inherits from her God-Father and her God-Mother.
New Revelation: Our Mother in heaven is decidedly a new revelation, as beautiful and delicate to the masculine sense of the race as it is just and exalting to the feminine. It is the woman's own revelation. Not even did Jesus proclaim to the world the revelation of our Mother in heaven - co-existant and co-equal with the eternal Father. This was left, among the unrevealed truths, to the present age, when it would seem the woman is destined by Providence to become very much the oracle of a new and peculiar civilization.
The Trinity of Mothers: A trinity of Mothers - Eve the Mother of a world; Sarah the Mother of the covenant; Zion the Mother of celestial sons and daughters - the Mother of the new creation of Messiah's reign, which shall give to earth the crown of her glory and the cup of joy all her ages of travail. ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 14 pages,

8 Dye, David A.CHANGES IN BRUCE R. MCCONKIE'S MORMON DOCTRINE - A Comparison of the 1958 & 1966 Editions - a Comparative Study

2007, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover book! ; In 1958, Elder Bruce R. McConkie of the First Quorum of the Seventy published a book entitled Mormon Doctrine. Some of the leading brethren of the Church were not pleased with what was written. After speaking with him about it, he was asked to either make some changes or to not print it again. He chose, for eight years, to leave it out of print. Then he began to reconsider, weighing the benefits of making the changes vs. Not getting the information out to the people. He decided to make the myriad of changes requested of him, having primarily to do with the Catholic Church. Other changes were made, with additions and deletions. Of all the time-honored works in Mormon literature, Mormon Doctrine ranks among the most well-known and authoritative references of all time. Most people are aware of the "sketchy past" of the book, but know little about the true story. Many questions remain about the book: What are the differences between the 1958 and 1966 editions? What led to the changes? Did the doctrine change, or just what was written? These and other questions are answered within the pages of this book. The gospel student will read what was originally written in the 1956 version, and then what was written in the 1966 version. A plethora of supporting documentation, including letters, quotes and a discourse, are also included in this book. In this book, you will read, side by side, the changes that were made between the first and second edition. This offers an insightful glimpse into the thinking of the 1960's, when the more liberal elements of society seemed to come into play in the Church, such as the negro and the Priesthood, the women's lib movement, etc. Extremely useful for the student of modern Mormon history! ; 6" x 9"; 187 pages,

9 Dye, David (editor)Church Trial Minutes of John W. Taylor - And the 1886 Revelation Along with a Brief History of John W. Taylor's Life, and Circumstances Surrounding the 1886 Revelation

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; During most of his lifetime, Apostle John W. Taylor was known as the "Prophet of the Quorum" of the Twelve Apostles. Then, in 1905, he resigned from this Quorum, and six years later, in 1911, he was excommunicated from the LDS Church. How could this be? It was no new thing to hear that a leader of the Church had "gone astray," but the odd thing about Apostle Taylor's case is that he was cut off with no bitter or hard feelings whatsoever, on his part, about the Church, and to his dying day, five years after his excommunication, maintained a severe loyalty to the Church and the leaders. But even more so, maintained a supreme loyalty to the Fulness of the Gospel.
In 1965 President David O. McKay, who sat on the Quorum when John W. Taylor was excommunicated, approved a proxy re-baptism and re-conferral of Priesthood for Apostle John W. Taylor, with one of John's sons acting as proxy. So, at long last, he was brought back into fellowship with the Saints and the Church he so dearly loved.
The story behind this incident has been told on several occasions, as well as his life story, filled with faith, selfless acts of service, and valiant and bold testimony. But the story has been incomplete until now, with one of the two major components being left out.
Presented in this booklet are two vital components to understanding that situation back in the early 1900's. The first are the minutes of his Church trial, held by the Council of the Twelve Apostles over a period of about one month in early 1905. The second is a copy of the "1886 Revelation" to President John Taylor, Apostle John W. Taylors father. It is upon this that the whole trial seemed to have it's basis, at least in the mind of John W. Taylor.
These two important pieces of "hidden information" shed much light on why such an event even took place, and why Apostle Taylor would be willing to sacrifice his Church membership without the bitterness that ususally accompanies such actions.
Also included is a brief history of the life of John W. Taylor and the 1886 Revelation. ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 34 pages,

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

This vision helps offer not only direction, but the impetus to go forward in the face of many trials. Now, with an extensive index of both subjects and people available for the first time, this book of fourteen epistles promises to encourage modern day Saints, offer insight to historians, and suggests that the Spirit which drove our early forefathers has NOT been lost, but seems to just be hidden from us today. 12 Dye, David (editor)Fundamental Concepts of the Universe - Elder John A. Widtsoe 1908

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; Joseph Smith was one of the greatest minds to ever grace this earthy sphere. This because of his calling as a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator to the True and Living God. In the revelations he brought forth, and the teachings he advanced, those who recognize truth understand that there is no separating the spiritual and material.
In this 22-page booklet, Apostle and Scientist John A. Widtsoe aptly puts forth some of the great scientific teachings which Joseph advanced in his teachings. Comprising four chapters of the work Joseph Smith as a Scientist, originally published in 1908, Widtsoe discusses some intriguing scientific concepts, and explains how the Prophet advanced these truths long before the world of science recognized them.
In this booklet you will be introduced, in a very exciting way, to such principles as the theory of light; how intelligence and energy are the same thing; the 'ether' which fills all of space, and how this ether is a controlling force; how the Holy Spirit controls all natural phenomena; etc. , etc..
A quote from Plato so aptly demonstrates how we only know things by their effects, and that "the cause of any given effect may, itself, be the effect of other causes, and that the first cause of daily phenomena is not and probably cannot be understood." Also, that miracles are laws which aren't understood.
The titles of the chapters which are included within this booklet are:
THE INDESTRUCTIBILITY OF MATTER
THE INDESTRUCTIBILITY OF ENERGY
THE UNIVERSAL ETHER
THE REIGN OF LAW; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 18 pages,

13 Dye, David (editor)Marriage and Morals in Utah - Parley P. Pratt

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; Parley P. Pratt, one of the early intellectuals of the Church, a profound defender of the faith, and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, offered in 1855 one of the most eloquent writings on plural marriage given.
Following by three years the address given by his brother Orson revealing to the world the Saints' belief in plural marriage, this discourse was written for an address to the political body of the territory of Utah.
In it you will read about the duty incumbent upon Abraham, and his posterity (IE us) to live the law of plural marriage, the vital necessity of living a pure and chaste life, with sexual intercourse being reserved only for those individuals who are married, and the resultant woes of those who disregard the laws of God.
Also included is a rather extensive endnote section which addresses both plural marriage as well as the law of chastity both within and without the marital covenant. ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 24 pages,

14 Dye, DavidMormon Polygamy - A Legal and Doctrinal Overview

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover book! ; Polygamy, or more accurately, bigamy, was illegal in the various states from before the birth of Joseph Smith. Neverthe less, he and the first seven presidents of the Church lived in plural relationships, defying the laws of the land.
This book is a summary of not only the various laws that were on the 'books' during the days that the Saints lived in those states, but there are also seven 'hidden revelations' which are not generally known to the Church during the first half century or more, in relation to plural marriage.
Also included is a brief summary of the women to whom Joseph Smith was sealed. Additionally, discourses on plural marriage, excerpts from political speeches, and writings from modern Fundamentalists are included in this book.
The information contained within the pages of this book offers a brief summary of the doctrines as taught by the early elders, as well as a summary of the laws of the land, showing that the Lord continued to require plural marriage, even though the laws at all times were opposed to it. ; 6" x 9"; 187 pages, Revised and Expanded Edition,

16 Dye, David (editor)Recollections of a Prophet - Pres. Joseph F. Smith December 23, 1894

Hindsight Publications, 2009, Mona, Utah: PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover book! ; Fifty years after the martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith, there was a special birthday commemoration for him held in Salt Lake, with the blessing and presence of Joseph F. Smith, a nephew, who would later become the sixth President of the Church. At this landmark meeting, a number of people who personally knew the Prophet told of experiences which they had with him, both social & spiritual. Also at this meeting, Joseph F. Smith requested that the Saints continue the celebration of Joseph Smith's birthday.
There were a number of interesting points made during this meeting. Joseph F. Smith indicated that although there had been a number of people who had seen Joseph Smith in vision since his martyrdom, that he wanted only those who actually knew Joseph in the flesh to speak. Most of those who spoke testified of hearing Brigham Young 'transform' into Joseph whilst he (Brigham) was speaking to the Saints followoing the death of Joseph.
One of the speakers said that the Saints of Joseph's day could not believe that he (Joseph) could be killed. Whilst most of the townspeople were in shock over the news, the Nauvoo Legion was preparing to hunt down the killers and take their lives. Only divine intervention stopped them.
One of the bretheren, in speaking with David Whitmer years after the death of Joseph, said that Br. Whitmer maintained that Emma's signature on the affidavit that Joseph did NOT live plural marriage was a forgery; Emma knew that Joseph lived plural marriage.
Some rather interesting stories were told of Joseph, like when he literally kicked a man out of his home who was being disrespectful. Some told of Joseph coming back to Nauvoo with his brother Hyrum after 'escaping' to Iowa because some of Joseph's 'friends' were saying that Joseph was a coward.
It is interesting to note that Joseph F. Smith taught that Christ was born on April 6, and not on December 25th, as is celebrated on an erroneous date.
To gain a deeper appreciation and understainding of the Prophet Joseph, this is a must read discourse, and one which you will go back to time and again. ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 21 pages,

The FIG Project, 2007, Mona, Utah: PaperbackNew

Brand New! ; Elder L. John Nuttall was one of the most important leadership figures in the late 1800's. A convert with his parents, Elder Nuttall was the secretary for Church Presidents, and proved himself a staunch defender of the faith. He was not afraid to call things as they were, sometimes taking issue with some of the leading brethren when he felt different than they did. At the same time, his loyalty to the truth, and to the Church leaders, was beyond reproach. As is apparent from the entries, his entire life was spent serving the Saints in a forceful and magnificent manner. Whenever a task was needing to be accomplished, it was L. John Nuttall to whom the Brethren looked! In the journal entries included herein, you will be introduced, in a most fascinating way, to Church history from an insider's point of view. You will also glimpse into how the doctrinal developments of the Church evolved over the years, and especially in relation to plural marriage. 18 Dye, David (editor)The Administration of Angels - Wilford Woodruff October 1896

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; In October of 1896, President Woodruff gave this superb discourse upon the ministration of Angels. Of all the Church Presidents, Wilford Woodruff seemed to be the most in tune with 'the other side.' He would often refer to conversations or revelations which he received from those in the Spirit World.
In this discourse, you will read about an experience in Kentucky in which a man dropped dead, after Pres. Woodruff warned him and was inspired to predict the future. You will read about a visitation wherein the future was reveled.
You will read why the Prophet Joseph Smith visited Pres. Woodruff 'a great deal' after the death of the Prophet. You will also read how Brigham Young visited Pres. Woodruff, and how righteous spirits rebuke evil spirits.

19 Dye, David (editor)The Coming Crisis - How to Meet It

Hindsight Publications, 2009, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover pamphlet! ; A GREAT and awful crisis is at hand - such a crisis was never known before since the foundation of the world. All nations are looking throught the misty future, in order to decry, if possible, what is about to happen.
The Powers of Satan
Perhaps you will be disappointed, if I tell you that the time is coming, and now is, when, not only God, the Highest of all, shall be revealed in spirit and mighty power, but the Devil or Satan also, will be revealed in signs and wonders, and in mighty deeds! This, reader, is the great key to all the marvelous events that are to transpire shortly upon the earth.
The Vehicles of Satan's Influence
It is not to be expected that Satan will carry on his great warfare against Christ and His Saints, by means of any one religion exclusively.
Truths are Vehemently Denied and Evil is Called Good
Notwithstanding there is much preaching and praying, still there is a virtual acknowledgment amongst all nations that God, as he was known unto the Patriarchs and Prophets of old, has forsaken the earth. And men are left to discover the way to heaven by the light of nature, or the misty nebulae of a hireling Priesthood.
Delusions will Abound Without the Spirit
And who shall be able to withstand? Do you think that your great sagacity and the compass of you profound, philosophical turn of mind will enable you to detect the error and delusion of these arts? Oh, man, this is a vain hope. Your mind will not be competent to detect the delusion. God Himself will allow Satan to ply your scrutinizing eye with powers and sophistications far beyond your capacity to detect.
Personal Revelation is Vital
You cannot know God without present revelation. Did you ever think of this most solemn and essential truth, before?
Marriage will be given up for Sexual Abominations
And further, when you see also the gross and beastly sexual abominations that are practiced and are increasing among all nations, without shame or fear, you will not marvel that God is determined to raise up a righteous seed and glorious branch, by re-establishing the Patriarchal Order, as in the days of Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, and Elkanah.
The Pure and Obedient to Get Revelations
Now there are several ways in which the pure and obedient get revelations. It will be your privilege in due time to become acquainted with these various ways. One way is, through the inspiration of the spirit. ; The FIG Project Series; 5.5" x 8.5"; 15 pages,

Volume 4 in the Gospel Grand Rounds series.; The Prophet Joseph Smith said, in the Third Lecture on Faith "Let us here observe, that three things are necessary in order that any rational and intelligent being may exercixe faith in God unto life and salvation. First, the idea that he actually exists. Secondly, a correct idea of his character, perfections, and attributes."

The first complete lecture at the veil was dictated by President Brigham Young to L. John Nuttall, his personal secretary, in 1877. In this lecture, our Father is described in a wholly different way than I had ever before imagined. This lead me to further research what had been said on the nature of God. The result is this book. It is the easy way to believe that we already know what the "character, perfections, and attributes" are of our God. But it is another thing when ne comes across teachings from our leaders which seem to offer more insight, and more depth of understanding, as to who our God really is.

Included within the pages of this book is the first lecture at the veil, found in L. John Nuttall's journal. Also included are teachings from the School of the Prophets, as well as discourses by the Prophet Joseph, Brigham Young, & Orson Pratt.

This is surely not an exhaustive study on the nature of God, but it is hoped that what is found herein will whet the appetite of the reader to seek for further light and knowledge on the subject. But it should be remembered that this book is academic in nature. To truly understand God, and all things of eternity, revelation must be sought and obtained. ; 6" x 9"; 243 pages,
