7 Roberts, B. H.Corianton - A Nephite Story

Lynn Pulsipher, 2011, PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover book! Publisher Lunn Pulsipher ahs put together the oringal format and content. A great little piece of Book of Mormon literature. The title was later made into a play.; From the Preface, "Corianton was first published as a serial in the Contributor, 1889. At that time the story was well received by a large circle of readers and the Author was urged by many of his friends to continue in that line of composition, as much good might come of it. A call came to engage in other work, however, and the delightful field just entered had to be abandoned. During the years that have intervened since the first publication of the story, many have inquired if Corianton would not appear in booklet form, to which the Author always replied in the affirmative, but without being able to say when the time of publication would come. Since the simple Nephite story, however, promises to become famous through Mr. O. U. Bean's dramatization of it, many—I may say very many—have expressed a desire of forming the acquaintance of Corianton as he first appeared; and hence the Author presents Corianton, the Nephite."; 5.75" x 8.5"; 111 pages,

8 Roberts, B. H.Defense of the Faith and the Saints

Brigham Distributing, 2006, Provo, UT: PaperbackNew

Brand New! Both volumes of the book complete in one book. ; Perhaps no one wrote about or knew LDS history better than Elder B. H. Roberts. Equally, few so eloquently defended the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Church, and the doctrines of the restored gospel. Encompassed on every side by vicious enemies - statesmen, senators, journalists, ministers - the fledgling Church needed a "Daniel Webster" to defend it from the lies and attacks. Such a man was B. H. Roberts. He expounds on such interesting subjects as: Father and Mother in Heaven, the immortality of man, a woman's place in Mormonism, the New Jerusalem, the Lost Tribes, astronomy, achieving peace, the destiny of America, a description of deserted Nauvoo, the miracle of seagulls, a description of entering Salt Lake Valley. Beyond reading the attacks and rebuttals, the reader gets a real feeling for the "climate" of the late 1800s and the turn of the century - a pivotal time in Church history. This book is a must for anyone who loves Church history. ; Vol. 1/2/2012; 6" x 9" ; 742 pages,

Archive Publishers, 2000, Heber City, Utah: PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover book! Never been read! ; "In this treatise, Elder B. H. Roberts studies the various beliefs prevalent during the boyhood and lifetime of the Prophet Joseph Smith and demonstrates not only the Prophet's lack of conformity with contemporary Christianity, but the wisdom and logic of his revealed corrections. This work is essentially a philosophic outline of Joseph Smith's teachings which shows their consistency while simultaneously defining a greater rationale for existence than offered through other religions and philosophies. 14 Roberts, B. H.MORMON DOCTRINE OF DEITY - The Robert-Van Der Donckt Discussion

Horizon Publishers, 1903, Salt Lake City, UT: HardcoverVery Good with no dust jacket

black with gold writing. Previous owner's name inside front cover. Parts of the text have been underlined and highlighted. Modern reprint, no other date. ; When two local ministers criticized Latter-day Saint beliefs about God in 1901, Elder Brigham H. Roberts of the LDS hierarchy defended the following doctrines: "First, we believe that God is a being with a body in form like a man's; . . . That in a word, God is an exalted, perfected man. "Second, we believe in a plurality of Gods. "Third, we believe that somewhere and some time in the ages to come . . . Man at last may become like God—a God. "Roberts critiqued Catholic and Protestant theology, calling it "paganized Christianity"—a characterization that prompted the now famous rebuttal from the Reverend Cyril van der Donckt of Pocatello, Idaho. To this, Roberts penned an even more comprehensive rejoinder. Published as The Mormon Doctrine of Deity, this debate forms one of the most engaging and complete considerations of the topic ever compiled. It not only showcases two brilliant, quick-witted theologians, it also surveys authoritative historical sources for both the Mormon doctrines and traditional Christian concepts about God. ; 6" x 9"; 296 pages,
