1 Regional Studies in LDS Church History Vol. 2: Western Canada

Wright, Dennis A., Robert C. Freeman, Andrew H. Hedges, Matthew O. Richardson (Editors)Very Good, Department of Church History and Doctrine Brigham Young University, 2000, Provo, Ut.

Paperback

Cover has some light edge and corner wear.

; This book contains a dozen essays on the Mormons in western Canada. Included are such topics as irrigation, the trek to southern Alberta in 1887, speaking in tongues, polygamy, dealings with the federal government, and building of the Mormon temple in Cardston.

Although most contributors are on the staff of the Department of Church History & Doctrine at Brigham Young, there are some Canadian authors, including John Gilpin, Robert J. McCue, and Lynn A. Rosenvall. While of interest primarily to students of Mormon studies, the book contains well documented accounts that relate to early southern Alberta history.

2 Saints At War - Experience of Latter-Day Saints in World War II

Freeman, Robert C. and Wright, Dennis A.Very Good in Very Good Dust Jacket, Covenant Communications, Inc., 2001, American Fork, UT

Hardcover

Cover has some light edge and corner wear. ; Saints at War brings together more than 200 remarkable stories--from Church leaders and veterans around the world--with hundreds of images that capture the essence of faith in the midst of war. Included are accounts by Thomas S. Monson, James E. Faust, Boyd K. Packer, David B. Haight, and Neal A. Maxwell. Sixty years ago, while in the prime of their youth, thousands of young Latter-day Saints humbly stepped forward, prepared to sacrifice their lives so that the nightmare of tyranny might end. These stalwart members of the Church returned home to begin the quiet work of earning a living, raising their families, serving in the Church, and retiring to enjoy missions and their grandchildren. While ordinary in many ways, their faith, service, and sacrifice changed the face of the world . . . And influenced the next generations in profound ways. ; 8.5" x 10.5; 440 pages,
