A BOOK OF COMMANDMENTS (1833)
1 A BOOK OF COMMANDMENTS (1833)

New, Archive Publishers, 2000, Heber City, Utah

Paperback

Brand new softcover book!

; "The forerunner to today's Doctrine and Covenants, the Book of Commandments was taken to Independence, Missouri, for printing in 1833. Because of mob violence present there, the press was destroyed and type and pages were scattered to prevent the book's publication. Some of the pages were gathered and subsequently bound with about two-thirds of the proposed book. This is an extremely rare book today with only a few known copies. The Book of Commandments contains 65 chapters (sections) with the last chapter only partially completed. "; 5" x 8"; 113 pages,

A COLLECTION OF DESERET'S STORIES
2 A COLLECTION OF DESERET'S STORIES

New, Archive Publishers, 2000, Heber City, Utah

Paperback

Brand new softcover book!

; "Once reading this collection of short histories, who will be able to forget the sacrifices and faith of the Latter-day Saint pioneers? Who wouldn't worry with the first settlers in Parawan as they guarded their walled town against Indian attacks; smiled with the settlers on the Sabbath day while an Indian chief compared the white man's dance to a demonstration of an Indian dance; mourned with an immigrant whose wife was stolen by Indians while coming west on the Mormon Trail; celebrated with the Saints as they witnessed answered prayers to protect their harvest against gresshoppers; and thrilled with a young boy caught between cliffs on an exploring activity? "Sometimes flowery while other times quite plainspoken, these early stories from the pens of LDS pioneers are not only exciting, but an inspiration for all readers. "; 5" x 8"; 98 pages,

America's Founding Documents
5 America's Founding Documents

New, Archive Publishers, 2000, Heber City, Utah

Paperback

Brand new softcover book!

; This booklet includes some of the most important documents in the founding of the United States. It includes The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and Washington’s Farewell Address.

The Declaration of Independence: It is considered one of the greatest documents in human history. It eloquently expressed the colonies’ reasons for proclaiming their freedom. The document itself should dispel the idea that the Founders were not religious, or that God and religion had no part in the founding of our country. There was no such thing as “separation of Church and State” in the minds of the Founders, but just the opposite, that without God and religion woven into the fabric of the “Making of America”, there would be no United States.

The Constitution of the United States: The Founding Fathers provided the framework for building a strong central government, without violating the rights of the states, or individual citizens of the nation. It provided for a small Federal government to take care of the national needs, and left the majority of responsibilities of administering the needs of the people to the states.

Washington's Farewell Address: This address was never given as a speech, but was published by Washington so that Congress and American citizens could read and study it often. After eight years as President, eight years as commander of the army during the Revolution, and all his years of public service, Washington had some good insights as to what would make our nation’s government strong, safe, and secure. These thoughts he put to writing as he contemplated retirement, and wanted to give this advise as a blueprint for future Presidents and members of Congress to follow. Of the six things he discussed, none of them are being followed today. ; 5" x 8"; 46 pages,

18 HELPFUL VISIONS: The Fourteenth Book of the Faith-Promoting Series- Designed for the Instruction and Encouragement of Young Latter-Day Saints

Very Good, Juvenile Instructor Office, 1887, Salt Lake City, UT

Hardcover

Black Hardcover; some wear and soiling on cover cover. Large gift inscription inside front cover.

; From the FAITH-PROMOTING SERIES, Helpful Visions is a compilation of true accounts written by various Latter-day Saints regarding miraculous experiences in their lives. Through divine protection, one man survived several days in the desert with hardly any food or water while awaiting rescue. Also included in this volume are missionary experiences that demonstrate the Adversary's determination to thwart those who would spread the gospel, and of their triumph over him through heavenly aid. The visions here recorded will again prove that truth is stranger than fiction, and we trust that a perusal of these manifestations will lead our young pepole to seek for the guidance of the Lord in all things, and make Him their constant friend. ; Faith-Promoting Series Series; Vol. 14; 5" x 8"; 95 pages,
