400 Questions & Answers about the Book of Mormon, Black, Susan Easton
1 Black, Susan Easton400 Questions & Answers about the Book of Mormon

Covenant Communications, Inc., 2011, American Fork, UT: PaperbackNew

Brand new softcover book! ; In this engaging volume, renowned gospel scholar and teacher Susan Easton Black explores more than 400 questions—many inspired by her own students—about the Book of Mormon. The book is organized into six chapters that address questions that enhance your knowledge of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon and how this sacred scripture testifies of Christ. These chapters also include queries about Mormon’s abridgment, the plates of Ether, the small plates of Nephi, and Moroni’s final additions to the Book of Mormon. Dr. Black’s answers illuminate and enhance the scriptural text, and many address more complex doctrinal topics in a succinct and sensitive manner.

Colorfully illustrated with more than 80 images, this book is an ideal companion for students and teachers in a variety of settings, from seminary and gospel doctrine class to personal and family scripture study. The research in this book is backed by extensive documentation as well as Dr. Black’s deep and evident love for the subject matter developed over decades of careful study. ; 6" x 9"; 242 pages,

Gold & Treasure - A History of John Lowe Butler II, Dalton, Craig L.
11 Dalton, Craig L.Gold & Treasure - A History of John Lowe Butler II

C. L. Dalton Enterprises, 2011, HardcoverNew in New dust jacket

Brand new hardcover book! ++; Any descendants of John Lowe Butler I will find this biography of his namesake son to be a valuable family history resource, because Gold & Treasure is not only a comprehensive and well-researched biography of John Lowe Butler II, but also includes a wealth of information regarding the extended Butler family. This is particularly true of his brothers James and Thomas, with whom he lived and worked closely throughout their lives. In many ways, Gold & Treasure picks up where My Best for the Kingdom (Bill Hartley’s renown biography of John Lowe Butler I) ends, chronicling the extended Butler family, including considerable information on John Lowe Butler II’s siblings, wives, and children, through their various pioneer enterprises.

John Lowe Butler II was truly a lifelong pioneer! He lived among the Indians of the central plains throughout his childhood. After an 8-year odyssey, his family made it across the plains to Spanish Fork, Utah. Left fatherless at age 16, John took on the responsibility of caring for his mother and younger siblings, and relocated the family to Southern Utah. There he pioneered one area after another and explored largely unknown regions of the southwest.

Working in partnership with two of his younger brothers, John became a wealthy rancher, farmer, teamster, lumberman, mill operator, and businessman. Then, in his last decade of life, John made a huge gold strike and staked his fortune in a promising mine.

Gold & Treasure has the excitement and feel of an old west novel, with numerous pioneer treks, Indian battles, exploring expeditions, fights, riches won and lost, a fabulous gold mine, and more. What makes these stories even more interesting is that they are true accounts. The book shares the excitement, adventure, fun, humor, and joy that were all part of Butler family life, as well as some truly heart-wrenching moments. By the end of Gold & Treasure the reader will not only know about John Lowe Butler II, but will come to love him!

Included free in the back of the book is a disk containing a full electronic version of Gold & Treasure complete with color photos and images, and numerous Butler related histories, documents, and photos, as well as digital versions of much of the research material cited in the book. This same disk also contains electronic versions of My Best for the Kingdom, The Butler Saga, The Lives of Isaac Erin and Caroline Thurber, and several other books, suitable for use with most e-readers.

Gold & Treasure is the fifth biography written by Craig L. Dalton, who was responsible for the recent republication of My Best for the Kingdom and who published Bill Hartley’s most recent book, Another Kind of Gold: The Life of Albert King Thurber. Gold & Treasure is similar to those works in size and quality. It is a hard cover book consisting of 526 pages bound with a library quality smyth sewn binding and covered with a gloss color dust jacket.

Gone Too Soon - The Life and Loss of Infants and Unborn Children, Wittwer, Sherri Devashrayee
12 Wittwer, Sherri DevashrayeeGone Too Soon - The Life and Loss of Infants and Unborn Children

Covenant Communications, Inc., 1994, American Fork, UT: PaperbackNew

Brand new book!; LDS Bereavement Resurrection. A book of comfort and counsel about the life and loss of infants and unborn children. They are gone too soon--precious little ones lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant death. However brief their lives, they are not soon forgotten. And the pain of their loss is very real to parents and family. This book is a tenderly-crafted message of comfort and counsel for those who have lost (or known someone who has lost) little children. Author Sherri D. Wittwer, who has herself know the poignant reality of such a loss, writes from a Latter-day Saint perspective of special gospel insights that can bring comfort and aid in the healing process as well as strengthen faith in the Lord. Wittwer draws on her own as well as other's moving experiences and reflections as she discusses the grieving process for parents and siblings and the spiritual resolution that makes acceptance possible. She portrays the pain, disbelief, anger, acceptance, and finally the peace of those who have endured this difficult trial. With them, you'll come to understand the kindness and mercy of a loving Father in Heaven who has promised a special place in his kingdom for those precious "angel babies. " ; 6" x 9"; 81 pages,

Deseret Book, 2011, HardcoverNew in New dust jacket

Brand new hardcover book! ; What do you know about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Would you like to know more?

Whether we are the most recent convert or the oldest lifelong Church member or anyone in between, these familiar questions prompt us to consider our personal store of gospel knowledge and to accept the Lord's invitation to "teach one another the doctrine of the kingdom" (D&C 88:77)

This landmark work is a trustworthy and convenient guide to distinctive LDS doctrines. It comes at a time when it is vital for us to clearly understand the principal teachings of our Church so we can share knowledge with each other and with persons not of our faith.

Entries on nearly four hundred topics range from "Adamic Language" to "Elect of God" to "Saviors on Mount Zion" to "War in Heaven"—all written in a conversational tone and with a cordial and inviting spirit. It is the most comprehensive and up-to-date one-volume reference work on LDS beliefs produced in many years.

As President Boyd K. Packer has taught, "True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior." This book will change our lives and enrich our gospel conversations. ; 6" x 9"; 688 pages,

Lehi's Dream, Millet, Robert L. & James C. Christensen
18 Millet, Robert L. & James C. ChristensenLehi's Dream

Deseret Book, 2011, HardcoverNew in New dust jacket

Brand new hardcover book! ; Some six hundred years before Christ, a small band of travelers somewhere in the wastelands of the Arabian desert gathered in their leader's tent at his request. He had an extraordinary story to tell. It began: "Behold, I have dreamed a dream; or, in other words, I have seen a vision." The vision that Lehi recounted to his family set the course for the civilization—and the conflict—chronicled in the Book of Mormon. The images he recounted and his son Nephi's interpretation of their symbolic value give readers of the Book of Mormon a pattern by which to understand their own journey through mortality. Lehi's dream was more than an extraordinary story that a weary traveler told his family; it set the course for his family for centuries, and can set our course as well.

In Lehi's Dream, world-renowned artist James C. Christensen provides a visual journey through Lehi's account and Nephi's interpretation of that dream, which serves both as an overarching theme of the Book of Mormon and its civilizations and as a unique and deeply personal template by which we can understand the Savior's plan of salvation. With more than a dozen new images created by James C. Christensen specifically for the book, and thought-provoking text by gospel scholar Robert L. Millet, Lehi's Dream is a valuable new contribution to the world of Latter-day Saint art and literature.; 6" x 9"; 80 pages,
